  • Tracing SSS from same shader through separate objects

    Hello!

I have run into an issue where I need to trace my SSS through separate objects. Is there any sort of inclusive set for the SSS rays so the shader will send the SSS through all objects selected?

Here is a simple example with some spheres. This has the default vraySkinMtl assigned. On the right the two spheres are combined to one set of geo, and on the left they are separated.

I have attached the scene file used in the example as well.

    Thank you for the help!

I should specify that I would like to keep the SSS scatter type on Raytraced**

This is already done in V-Ray for 3DSMax but not ported to V-Ray for Maya yet.
We'll let you know when the option becomes available in V-Ray for Maya as well.

Thank you very much. Do you any idea of timeframe that this feature may be available in an official release? (Do not think I would be able to do a nightly build currently)

It is not available in the nightly builds yet and we couldn't provide any time-frames for its implementation.
