  • random particle artifacts

    Hi,

I'm trying to render a couple of sequences with simulated rain particles (maya nParticles). When I load the nCache some frames seem to render as should, others don't. The issue even appears when I rerender a correct frame. It's completely random. If I turn off motion bur the issue disappears.

I get these huge splotches, plus rendertimes increase a lot!

    Correct frame vs. incorrect frame

Does anyone know what is going on here?

    Thanks!

I get this stuff a lot too... You're just supposed to see the particles drops. The rendertype is set to "points" by the way.

Can you send us the scene so we can take a look?
And it would also help to know your VRay/Maya/OS versions.

If it's under 10 MB you can upload it here. Otherwise you can either upload to something like dropbox/google drive and share a link or email me the link at alexander.yolov@chaosgroup.com
If it's really big, we can provide you an ftp to upload.

Got it and tested it. Seems to be a bug. I'll update the thread once there's any news on this one.

Ok, thank you. In the mean time, is there a quick work around I can use? On a pretty tight deadline.
              Any tip is appreciated!

You could render in vray 3.10 for the moment. We'll try and fix it as soon as possible for the nightlies.
