Hi,
So I've been having a lot of trouble baking textures. I think since version 3-ish of Vray.
I did quite a lot of baking last year. Then I had some other work to do, during which time I updated Vray a couple of times (I think). Now I have some more baking work to do, using many of the same models that were successful last year. But now it is failing a lot.
The way it fails is always the same and quite distinctive. If I'm rendering with CUDA it just renders from the camera and if I'm rendering with CPU, the render hangs on 70%.
I've narrowed down the cause to something to do with the UVs. I'll attach a scene to this message to demonstrate. In the scene the object to be baked is "bakeRoom1" with uvSet "bakeRoom".
bakeRoom1 has 5 uv sets. map1, bakeUVs Zwalls, Xwalls and bakeRoom.
I can bake the texture using any of those sets, except for bakeRoom (Which is annoying because that's the correct set). But if I delete "bakeUVs" then I can bake with "bakeRoom". So bakeUVs seems to be the culprit.
Can anyone tell what's going on? As I said, I baked with this model (and uv sets) last year and it was fine. Now this problem is happening a lot with lots of other models! So I guess I've got other UV sets similar to "bakeUVs" in other models which are causing this issue elsewhere.
There doesn't seem to be anything unusual about "bakeUVs". It happens to be an empty set. (Although that's not the problem per se because I can create another empty set and it doesn't cause this issue.)
Can anyone help?
