  • Strange Viewport 2.0 Processing while rendering..in 3.4

    hi,
I´ve open a normal scene, nothing special.
All views are set to "Smooth Shade All" and Viewport 2.0 mode.
When I move the Renderview, or close it for a moment, or start the render settings view...
    ...the bukets stop walking forward
...and I get the "Viewport 2.0 Processing" message for 5 or 10 or 20 seconds or so.
The whole system seems to hang.
...after a while, the bukets work again and the renderprogress is coming back.
It don´t need more rendertime, seems to work in background forward, but it´s not possible to work forward in Maya while rendering.
I made a test with 3.3 and can say that this is a new problem.
    Any idea?
    Thank´s

    (Maya2015, Win7, Vray 3.4.001 - with 002 the same)

Are you running the viewport in openGL mode?
Is this a normal production rendering? From what I can understand this is without the VFB? Does the same thing happen when using the VFB?
It would be greatly appreaciated to have more specific steps for reproducing this.

sorry, I forgott to upload the screenshot...
You see, it´s with the VFB Window, running in OpenGL Mode.
And it´s a normal Production render.
When I set Viewport2.0 to DirectX11 it works as fast as before, but never used DirectX11 before!
And with DirectX11 I´m missing textures when pressing key6....hmmm
BTW...I´m using NVIDEA GeForce GTX 980TI

hi again, I hoped that my probs are gone with 3.4.002, but they don´t.
Again...when I render with 3.4, and while I´m rendering I move the VFB from one position to another...
...it needs 10to20 seconds to rebuild my screen with the new position of VFB. See here how that looks...

I made a test with 3.3 and nothing happens, all is fast and normal.
Tried it with older GTX980TI drivers, nothing changes.
Please help, that is absolute terrible for me - often I use the render time to adjust shaders, rendersettings or what ever - every single actions hangs now for seconds...
        Thanks, Jörg

Hi and thanks for providing all details about this issue.

I think we reproduced the lag/freeze here, but I would like to perform a few more tests before sending a bug report to our developers.
          Will keep you posted.

              Hello again,

Just to let you know that I've opened a new issue in our system and as soon as we have any solution, will post here.
