Instancing fluid containers seems to work fine, but instancing them via particle instancer or MASH instancer does not. The instances don't render at all. Any workaround for this?
I should point out that instancing fluids is already my workaround for not being able to properly shade volume geometries with 3D procedurals. I've had to ditch using meshes, and use 3D grids instead. I've got a good look and it renders quick, but I need about 1000 of them animating individually, the way I would normally do with nParticles. And I'm also looking for a workaround for cached particles not rendering either, so whatever workaround this is, should probably favour something like MASH over nParticles.
So yeah, how to I get the instancer to work with fluids? Some secret export tickbox maybe?
Why I can't render volume meshes:thread
Why I can't render nParticles:thread
All this in Maya 2016.5 SP1 & VRay 3.4 on OSX 10.10.5
