  • DR baking?

    Hi!
I'm baking some textures for an current project right now. When I'm baking through the Renderbutton and have the baking engine set in the render settings all my distributed rendering clients are working. But when I use the "Bake with VRay..." tool from the Lighting/Shading menu only my local machine picks up the job. I'd like to use that function, because otherwise VRay won't respect the per objects bake settings and just render/bake what's set up in the rendersettings, right?

The Bake with vray tool doesn't support Distributed rendering. At some point we'll combine the functionality of the two and this will be possible, but there's currently no time frame for this.

+1 for this. I'm in the middle of a project that requires a lot of baking and I would love to be able to use my DR slaves for this.

It will work if you export a .vrscene file and bake through V-Ray Standalone.

        Best regards,

Good to know. I'll look into this. I've used standalone to render scenes but didn't know it could bake textures as well. Is that fairly easy to setup?

            hi bvoldm,

I've written a script to bake with dr, it also bakes udims, and various render layers. Send me a pm and I can share it with you.
