vray had been working fine but stopped working today...

I try to open the vray settings window and I get the following error:

Any idea why v-ray wouldn't be working any more and how to fix it?
I did a reinstall and that didn't solve the problem.

I optimized the scene and was told maya had deleted 3 unknown nodes. After that it started rendering again. Go figure.

Heh, strange. Do you have the original scene?
If you can reproduce this reliably it will be good if you can share the scene, so we can try to find what is the root cause for the problem.
