  • Artifact of VRaySubdivision+Default Subdivision Quality+Bake

This mesh is adding the VRaySubdivision attribute.
If it Bake with high resolution(2K/4K), an artifact will come out.

Subdivision and Displacement Quality is added Shape locally no problem.
But I want to control by Default Subdivision Quality.

It confirms by Maya 2017+VRay 3.40.03.

    Please check and fix.

Thanks for the scene file, I could reproduce the problem.
As a workaround, you could try either using view independent subdivision OR use openSubdiv attributes instead of subdivision. Keeping the subdivision to be view-dependent could also work if you slightly increase the edge length, to the point where it doesn't change the geometry and the artifacts start disappearing.

      It confirms again.
Is this not bug but normal behavior?

I will be able to tell you once our developers get the chance to look into this. I'll update the thread here once there is some information.
