  • Denoiser does not output pass for denoising as a post process

    Hello,
I have currently an issue with the denoiser RE,
It does not render the necessary render elements to denoise once my render is finished.

the mode i use is Only generate render element
the type is Denoise Render elements separately
    preset Default
Generate render Elements is set on : All possible elements

I want to have my .exr files as separate files for each RE.

I can have an acces to the RE for denoising only when i render with exr(multichannel); wich i do not want due to the large file size.

    For info: win7, maya 2016 Ext1 Sp5, vray 3.40.03, vray core version 3.25.01
Is it a known issue, and is there a fix in a recent nightlies ?

Let me know if you need any additional info.

    Bye.

The denoiser was initially intended to be used with multichannel files. Currently it won't work with the render elements saved to separate files.

But it will work with multichannel exr files to denoise individual render elements in a comp? What would the workflow be for doing this in Nuke? I recall hearing that there were plans to make a plugin for Nuke for the standalone denoiser. Any word on that?

Does this mean that the denoiser will still work effectively with deep data EXRs?

No, not for the moment, I'm afraid.

No, denoising the render elements is still in development.
