Running Maya 2016 SP6 with VRAY 3.40.04
Using the Maya File node to load the texture with UDIM UV Tiling Mode selected (referred to in the post here I believe).
Loading UDIM textures does not work in ViewPort 2.0 on Vray Materials. The first texture of the sequence is tiled over the entire mesh. The red 'Generate Preview' button will not turn gray (even after clicking to generate preview). Regenerating All UV Tile Preview Textures in Viewport 2.0 has no effect.
Loading UDIM textures does work in Viewport 2.0 on basic Maya materials (lambert, blinn).
These are 8k 8-bit tiff images.
First image is with Vray MTL applied, second image is with Maya Lambert applied.
