    NOT a priority issue

When I standalone render single images they turn up in (project)/images/tmp/
When I standalone render as animation they turn up in (project)/images/

I can't for the life of me work out why? It's probably a stupid little thing, and obviously not an important "problem". It's been going on probably for half a year and just a minor annoyance.
The standalone command is the same apart from the frames count.

It's the way V-Ray saves the output. You can read more about it here:

We tried to make it consistent with Maya's way of outputting images. When you render animation from GUI or animation/stills from batch, no _tmp suffixes will be appended and no images will be saved im tmp folders. But if you render still images directly from gui, then Maya considers that a tmp render.
