  • Installation

    Hi all

    We’re using:
    Maya 2016 sp6 on a Mac 10.10.5 Yosemite
(Maya and mental ray running fine)

We installed the License server and V-Ray.
Ran the license server and got an error on not working with this OS.

I thought I had installed the Maverick’s version and then tried the snow leopard version (the wrong way around, but the snow leopard version was also part of the latest ‘vray_adv_34006_maya2014_snow_leopard_x64’ download), but I must be wrong, as checking this morning, I can only see the snow leopard version in the downloads page.

We then uninstalled the license server and V-Ray.

We are now having the following error when loading Maya (see attached).

The installation has also affected Creative Cloud, Photoshop (2 filter warnings and free), and previewing in the finder (using the space bar) leaves the finder not responding (see attached). All these applications freeze or crash.

We had this issue at the end of last year and so wiped the machine and started again this year, but with all the same issues.

I’ve posted the Maya issue on Autodesks forums too, but they say to check with you guys.

    Cheers

    Steve

That should have been 'Photoshop (2 filter warnings and freeze)', and Maya 2014, sorry.

      I've installed:
      'WkRuntimeUser_6.40.500',

      and reinstalled:
      vrlservice_adv_30503_mavericks_x64
      vray_adv_34006_maya2016_mavericks_x64

The license server is running ok, and the status shows the licenses are good, but Maya etc. are still having licensing issues.

      Any ideas?

      Cheers

Seems like the vray installation has somehow affected the licensing of creative cloud and auto desk.

        Any suggestions?

And Photoshop does open, after clicking through the filter windows, but takes around 10 minutes to kick in.
Then each operation goes in to spinny wheel.

I sent an email to support yesterday, but as things stand, we cannot use our machine.
I might get the machine wiped and add maya first and then V-Ray.

Having wiped the machine and installed Maya, Mental Ray and V-Ray, all is working ok.

We are now adding Creative Cloud etc. so fingers crossed.

                    Just to update:
We've installed Creative Suite, Outlook etc. and all is now ok.

Not quite sure what happened there.

                    Cheers

That sounds really odd. Glad to know it's all working for you now, but in case you run into this again, please do let us know.
