Referencing this post from Jan 2016, the simplex noise node in Maya should be supported by V-ray:

But I've had no luck getting V-ray to respect the distortion U/V attribute.
You can see I have 2 noise nodes plugged into the distortion slots on the simplex (I have tried both outAlpha and outColorR). The result is as expected in the viewport (left), but in the V-ray render the simplex noise is not distorted. Maya software and hardware render matches with the viewport.
I am using V-ray 3.4.04 in Maya 2017 sp3.
Is there something I am missing? Will switching to 3.5 fix this issue? Thanks
