  • Non-Integer pixel size on 4K Vray render written to .exr file

    I'm doing a project that the client wishes to have everything rendered in 4K output written to 16bit .exr files. I've not worked with that much in the past but in processing my first batch of outputs and then loading them into Nuke I see that Nuke believes the files are 4096x2304 with 0.999563 aspect ratio pixels, not 1:1. This project was rendered in Maya 2017 update 3 with Vray 3.52.02. Scenes were rendered to 16 bit multichannel .exr files. You can see the screenshot as seen from my initial input into Nuke below. I guess my question is, is this something to worry about or, what I was going to do was just tell Nuke the project settings are 1:1 and when it renders out, it's going to render out 1:1 so who cares right?

    I don't think you need to worry about it; but just in case, can you post one such .exr file or send it to me at vlado@chaosgroup.com ? I want to check the actual pixel aspect value written to the file. What is the value shown in the Maya UI in the render setup dialog?
