  • triplanar tex randomisation

    Hi, in max i can easily apply random face ids to drive the randomisation of the triplanar tex.


    however when i transfer the model to maya (using fbx) the material ids dont come thru it seems , as there is no randomisation in the triplanar tex.

    im a maya noob.. how to bring across or regenerate the necessary id's for the triplanar tex?

    nobody? i dont believe for a minute that the randomisation per element/shell in maya isnt possible..

      The triplander node has a dropdown for random mode that includes "by face ID" and several checkboxes for "random texture rotation" etc. Is this not what you are wanting?

        If you add extra V-Ray attributes to a samplerInfo node, there is a random from polygon shell output that you can maybe use.
