  • new IPR right-click menu?

    Hey guys,

Just upgraded to 3.52.02 today! Poking around the new features, however where is this new IPR menu?
The docs say "When rendering with IPR, the following menu becomes available when right clicking in the VFB."
However, if if I start a standard maya IPR render and right click in the V-ray FB, I just get the usual color picker popup, not the new selection menu?

    Cheers,

    Carlos

Is it the official build? Could you tell us the exact build number and date? You can get that info from Maya's Output window - it's right at the top and looks like this: V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 3.57.01, revision 27392 from May 9 2017, 06:31:44
Although it should definitely be in 3.52.02. It's only available while IPR is running. Here's a video showing how it works:

      Thanks!!

I'm using the official release, from the output editor:
      [2017/May/13|09:59:27] V-Ray: V-Ray for Maya version 3.52.02 from Apr 24 2017, 22:01:19
      [2017/May/13|09:59:27] V-Ray: V-Ray core version is 3.52.02

But, I figured out what was triggering my issue:

      - If I start a IPR render and in my render globals I have the default 'use V-Ray VFB' switched ON, the right-click menu appears correctly!

      - However, IF I have 'use V-Ray VFB' switched OFF... and then start an IPR, and then manually open the the V-RAY VFB (via the 'Show V-Ray VFB' button in render globals), the right-click menu does not appear. Even if the IPR is still running and correctly updating in the VFB, it does not give the right-click menu when it was manually opened in this way.

It was originally meant to work when VFB is enabled. When it is disabled, we do display the image there, but some functionality goes away.
I'd be curious to know why you would use it in this way? If you need some functionality from the Maya render view, you can just uncheck "hide render view" and have both working at the same time - that should work.
