  • Incorrect Camera being rendered in Vray Frame buffer?

    Hi All,

    Just started using Vray for Maya on Linux; latest Vray, Maya 2016.5

    I'm not sure if this is a common issue and it's documented anywhere;

    The most annoying issue keeps happening where the 'persp' camera seems to be passed to Vray as the camera to render, even though in the global settings the render camera is specified as a different camera called 'renderCamera'.
    No matter what I do (changing this to 'front' for example) I can't seem to change what camera gets rendered - only persp.
    Changing the viewport camera also doesn't seem to make any difference.

    I think this is probably more of a Maya issue, but has anyone else experienced this, and is there a way around it?

    Really stupid issue.....

    Cheers!

    Hi,
    the Renderable camera is considered when rendering in Batch only which is how Maya behaves. Hitting the render button in Maya always renders the current active view that is highlighted. If you hit render from the VFB it always render s the last active render camera. You can always change the camera form the VFB by right clicking on the render button in the VFB and choosing another camera.

      Ahh!
      Excellent - I didn't know about the right click options on the VFB render button!

      Thanks a lot - that all makes sense!

      Cheers
