Just some more info:
If you select say, 50% test render (Render/Test Resolution/50% Settings) and then you right click on the snapshot in the maya Render view, the resolution size says 50%.
However, the VFB still renders at 100%
Yes, that's how it's wired currently. The VFB test resolution is separate from Maya's test resolution. So the above described case would be expected with the current way of wiring it. We'll still discuss it with the devs, though.

Yes, it would. In some rare cases there could be a file or two left over, but the installer will let you know if that's the case and "show details" will let you know which files are left over.

The test resolution options in Maya's Render View are not fully accessible through standard APIs.
Although we can get the value, we can't receive notifications when the value is changed. Which makes it somewhat unwieldy in IPR.
That's why we decided to have our own options in the VFB. Arnold have their own options in their render view too, probably for the same reason. So, not really something we can fix.
the VFB resolution is 100%, regardless of chosen percentage (on a mac).
That's not supposed to happen. It should change when you right-click and choose a test resolution and toggle the test resolution to be applied by then left clicking the vfb button.
What Maya version and OSX versions are you using, so we can check it on our end too?

Hi,
I've made a few tests and it seems to be working fine here. Maybe there is some spacial case in which it doesn't work. Is it possible that you're watching the Zoom percentage on the VFB's titlebar which might be taken for the percentage set in the test resolution?
I've rolled back to the previous version for now, but I'm pretty sure I was using the V-Ray percentage and not the Zoom percentage.
I'll check again later.
