    Hi,
can you share the VRay and Maya version that you're using? Sharing a scene would also be helpful since I can't reproduce the issue here on my end with the latest 3.60.02 and Maya 2017 update4

As far as I can see you're overriding the diffuse color of materials (VRatMtl2 and VRatMtl3) that aren't attached to the blend material (VRayMtl4 and VRayMtl5). If you attach VRayMtl1 or VRayMtl2 as a base material in the Blend Material the Layer override works fine. Could it be something else that I'm missing that causes the issue?

i have houndreds of materials in the scene and i like to have them all gray... doesnt matter if they are in a blendmaterial or not...
i thought this would work if i override the color attribute...
im not doing the override by hand one by one... just drag the attribute to the override and it does it for all materials in the scene...

You can override whole collections of objects by right clicking on a collection and applying a Material override to it, Then chose a desired material and this should do the trick. Let me know if this works for you.

ok im back... the issue was the transform filter... if it is turned on during you collect the shaders and shapes it does only collect the first connected shader not the children in the shader network...
you need to use the "all" filter...
