  • Rendering xgen alembic cache converted to vrmesh

What's the trick to correctly rendering an xgen cache that's been converted to vrmesh using ply2vrmesh? I've tried adjusting every setting I can see in the vraymesh node and even applying a VrayRenderableCurve to the cache.

I'm converting my xgen abc caches to vrmesh because, in large scenes (several hundred instances), the abc cache is falling out of sync with the other mesh caches (12 frame run cycle) which are all vrmesh.

Im not sure if converting an xgen to vrmesh works, but have you tried converting it to a vrscene instead? That should work, and render as expected.

Thanks, Algehov! I started experimenting with vrscene yesterday and after some initial speed bumps, I think I have something that will work.

It's a bit of a bummer that vrscene animation doesn't playback consistently in the viewport. Makes it difficult to check for foot slipping prior to render.

With vrscene xGen works absolutely fine. For animation is better to export it in sequence vrscenes, and use <frame04> for load.
