  • Transfer Missing Assets not working with Windows 10 & OSX

    Hi,

I'm trying to get a Mac Pro working with our Windows 10 workstations with Distributed Rendering... I've installed V-Ray 3.6.02 on the Mac, just the standalone version. On my Windows 10 PC (running Maya 201 I've ticked on Transfer Missing Assets, then when I hit render V-Ray does connect to the Mac, but in the Output Window it gives me the following message for all of the texture assets:

    [2017/Oct/31|11:04:36] V-Ray: Server 10.0.44.145:20207: Asset "/********/Graphics/*******t/2017/******/******/Maya/sourceimages/*****/images/*****.png" was not received.

Then all of the buckets for that Mac render black... Would anybody know how to fix this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,
I've made a few tests and it seems to be working fine here. Do you install V-Ray Standalone form V-Ray for Maya installation by choosing "Standalone only" instead of "Full" or you install it form a dedicated V-Ray Standalone only installer?

I installed it from the V-Ray for Maya installer, and chose Standalone in there. I didn't know there was a separate installer for standalone, do you have a download link for it?

      Thanks,

There is a download link if you have access to it in the Downloads section on our site. However it is highly recommended to use the one from V-Ray for Maya installation since you're starting the Distributed Rendering from Maya. Can you give us some more information like does it happen with all assets or only with specific ones like bitmaps, proxies etc? Do you have any additional environment variables set on the machines?
