  • VRay RT, CUDA, GPU, Render Elements without filtering?

Hi, i'm having some trouble wrapping my head around this.

I want to be able to harness the power and speed of VRay's GPU rendering, but still maintain the flexibility of changing things like DOF and Motion Blur in post.

However, when I choose to render my scene with the GPU, the Zdepth/Velocity render elements still come out anti-aliased, even though I've unchecked the "filtering" box for the two elements.
This makes the render elements that are produced with the GPU unusable in post.

Am I doing something wrong? Like is there a checkbox somewhere that says "CUDA render image sampler settings does not affect render element filtering" or something.

    Thanks!

    Hi there.

Adding more "Min Shading Rate" like 24 and "2" Progressive Min Subdivs. Play with those values.

Hi thanks for the reply, but those values are not available under the CUDA engine? I only see those attributes in the CPU rendering engine mode.

The progressive sampler (which is what the GPU uses) always filters the render elements, I don't think you can get unfiltered elements with it. Improving that is already on our list.
