  • Material Wrapper Glitch

    Hi guys,
    I got a little problem with the Material Wrapper, simple scene with object, shadow catcher, HDR dome and one area light above, when I render with Irradiance map +Light cache or BF+LC
    I get these squares on an incomplete shadow render, seems to be worse if I render closer to the object.
    It is rendering fine with BF+BF

    What could this be?

    Please check simple scene, just add a HDR.

      Hi,
      thank you for the scene and the feedback. This is a known issue and as a workaround please add a shadow render element and this will fix the problem. Let me know if you have any more issues.

          Dear Chaos support, 7 months later and this is still not addressed, just tested again with build Jul 19 3.60,05 Maya 2018 windows 7.
          It only renders correct with BF+BF.
          Renders correct in GPU also.

            Hello,
            sorry about the delay, this is still in our to do list for fixing. I understand that adding a shadow render element is not a perfect workaround but it fixes the issue if you want to use BF+LC. I'll update the thread as soon as I have some new information about this (ticket: VCORE-1596).

              Thanks Shaio , I'm doing with BF BF for now but was wondering why the fix was difficult to implement .
