  • Build 27888 DR Freeze

    Hello
Using the stable build 27888 (7dec) causes extraordinary freezes when DR is used, and I can't seem to trace what's causing it in the output log.

Any scene - I've tried a wide range
    Local rendering is fine

Engage DR = black VFB for around 6-7 minutes with no visual feedback or log update.
( looks like it's crashed, basically) then, tadaaa! it starts rendering.

I know that's very little to work with, but note that I've only seen it on build 27888 (the latest). 27796 is perfectly sound.

I only mention it as that build has been around a few weeks now (and goodness only knows you guys are super busy on NEXT )

Can you get us a full log file of one such render? Is there anything specific in the setup - i.e. is the local machine used for rendering or not? Do you have any Cryptomatte elements in the scene?

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Just shooting in the dark here, do you have Viewport IPR running at the same time?
Also do you have a cryptomatte render element in your scene when this happens?

Unfortunately no log available at the moment, as I posted it at a ridiculous time (we're just closing up for Xmas!). I may Teamview in to the studio over the holiday when I get a chance. The only things to note from you questions were:

        No local machine used
        No Cryptomatte
Not scene specific- had tried a good few different projects.

Again, I know that's completely useless, I'm sorry.

Could you make sure that both your render host and your render server have the exact same version?

Just noticed reply came out of sequence (That you'd replied in the meantime Mihai).

Good catch ! Yes I'd forgotten to mention that it was during IPR rendering (I usually find it more stable/predictable when rendering Cuda). Not viewport IPR however.. VFB

The issue happens when they are exactly the same version.

FYI - when I went back to the earlier version 27796 on the HOST the pause issue went away regardless of all the server machines still being on 27888.
