  • Vray 3.6.03 Long translating time

    Hello,

before the issue definition, here my setup:
    Maya 2017 update 4
    Vray 3.6.03
    Win 7

    The issue :

Long Time between pressing the render button and the render starts (around 12 minutes ).
It's an archViz scene , like i have done a lot in the past without this issue
A lot of instanced proxies , mainly trees and furniture (1,4Go on disk)
Quite a lot of textures (330 files), all those file are .tx .
A little bit of model directly in the scene bur nothing too complex (mainly simple buidling).
A few areas with vray fur for creating some grass
The issue occur with or without embree activated.
The issue occur with or without distributed rendering.
I am using bucket rendering, adaptative sampling min 1 max 24 msr 6, GI with BF+LC, some classic render element + cryptomatte

I've try to set all the assets locally bur it does not change so much (a bit faster around 10 to 20 %)

As you can read nothing extraordinary.
Is there some of you experiencing this kind of trouble ?
Any idea from where it could came from ?
But it s a pain to work with so few interactivity, it's making me mad...

You will find in attachement a log from the output window.
Let me know if can provide any usefull additional info.

    Bye .
    Mathieu.

    Hi,

Can you try disabling the cryptomatte to see if that helps? I don't know if it might be related, since I can not reproduce this on my end, but it might be worth a try.
Another thing - can you re-run the render (with the cryptomatte) with the log level set to highest (render settings > settings tab > system > log message leve = all messages) and paste the log again when that happens. This might give us a bit more information to work with.
And finally, if it's possible, can you share the scene with us so we can try reproducing the problem here and see what's wrong?

Unfortunately the log doesn't help much in this case. It would be best to have a scene to look at.
You could either upload it somewhere like GDrive, dropbox or similar and send us the link, or we can provide you with access to our ftp server to upload it there.
Let me know what works best for you.

          Thanks in advance.

OK, got the scene files and here's the progress so far.
The texture load times are normal, but the problem is with the proxies. It takes a lot of time to link the proxies to the scene. So at least now we now where to look for a bug. I'll forward this to our devs for profiling and I'll let you know once there's news.

Nothing yet. I'll let you know as soon as I have something.
It's logged as a bug in our system, and the developers need to look into this.
