  • Ansiotropy issue

Hi, im getting an unexpected result when i change the ansiotropy setting to 0.8 on a poly smoothed object. If the ansio setting is at 0, then its fine, but set it to 0.8 and you get the 2nd image result. If you unsmooth the object it works ok at 0.8. But see my post after this, as theres another issue with that.

So something is getting corrupted after using the smooth tool in maya.

This is latest version of vray...maya 2018.2....scene attached.

    thanks

Why are the highlights spread at different rotations? I initially thought its was the uvs of the mesh being at 90deg to each other but thats not it. Am i meant to be hooking up the meshes UV to the shaders ansio uv co-ords?

Also whilst testing the CPU IPR i noticed that if you delete the history of an object whilst its rendering, it dissappears. ( try creating a cube, extrude a face, and whilst ipr is active, delete history).

      Hi,

This is a known issue that we've just fixed. We'll see if we can port the fix to the stable builds so you can get it.
As for the disappearing object in IPR - that's also known and it's on our list of things to fix.
