  • Issues using I Cubes VrayScatter for Maya

    Hello

    I am running vray 3.60.04 on maya 2017 (update5) os win7.

I have an issue with opacitymaps on scattered objects.

Image below is s a render of the rock and grass i want to scatter Click image for larger version Name:	scatter_issue_A.jpg Views:	1 Size:	212.4 KB ID:	996627

Here is the scattered example, as you can see in the background where the grass overlaps the rock the opacity is messed up Click image for larger version Name:	scatter_issue_B.jpg Views:	1 Size:	282.1 KB ID:	996629

If i assign the rock with a grey material the opacity seems to work again

Name:	scatter_issue_C.jpg

Size:	255.6 KB

    any ideas?

    thanks

    Matt

      Hi,
I'm unable to reproduce the issue on my end. If possible sharing a simple scene to reproduce the issue here would be great.
Can you give me some more info about the scene setup like how do you instance the objects (Duplicate Special, MASH, Particle instancer)? Are the rock and the grass inside a group also what is the file format of the image attached to the VRayMtl opacity attribute? Also try different opacity modes (Stochastic, Normal and Clip) and let me know about the results.
      Thank you for the feedback.

        hi Shaio,

I have a test scene, can you give me an email address to send it to.

I have used a 3rd party plugin to instance the objects its called vrayscatter by icube.
the grouping does not seem to have an effect
.jpg is the image format for opacity attribute
tried all the opacity modes with exacty the same results

        thanks

        Matt
