  • Dedicated fabric shader or at least sheen?

I know this has been brought up before and there are a couple plugins such as thunderloom for this, but would it be possible to have a dedicated fabric shader with different brdf options? Creating accurate, photo real fabrics are a massive headache for me and always involves complex setups with micro hair simulation to obtain an accurate sheen.
If this isn't possible, I would love a sheen/backscattering control in the alshader/vraymaterial implemented similar to other models such as the Disney principle and Arnold's standard material.

Thanks for any consideration. If anyone has any links for how they handle photoreal fabrics, I'd love any tips.

Judging by other posts there seems to interest in such a shader. So we will give it a fought and see what can be done about it.

VRscans library has over 400 fabrics now, uses BTX specific to each scan, and customizable to a certain degree. Check them out if you haven't already!

This has been requested a lot, and we'll surely do something about it in the near future.
