  • Non-Clashing distributed rendering.

    Hello,
When we do a distributed rendering here, we generally check that our deadline queue isn't currently using any of the intended nodes. Otherwise it tends to try rendering simutaneously.

Is there a way we can check whether the intended renderhost is busy with another vray job from another machine or another standalone process? Better still, automagically only pick up the renderhosts that are currently free.

You can do distributed rendering in combination with Deadline so it will use your deadline nodes that are free and not the ones in use and will block these nodes from being used for other deadline tasks until finished.
    It is called Vray DBR.

You need the integrated deadline script in your 3d app and you run a deadline vray dbr submission.

    Best,

    Richard

Thank you Richard! I'd missed that route for doing things. I'll look into it.

There's also the dr check tool https://docs.chaosgroup.com/display/...ng-DRChecktool
Also, for the next major version, there will be an automatic version check between client and servers to avoid mismatching versions.
