Something I find I do a lot when Im scaling lighting is dialing in both values. Would it be possible to get a "lock aspect ratio" kind of button? So if its 1 x 1 default itll scale as a square, but if you have made a car softbox shape, and lock it, itll scale accordingly? That'd save me a lot of clicks over the course of a day/

Point taken, I'll add a note.

As a side question to this -- is using the UV attributes on rect lights still the "correct" way to scale lights? I used to always do this, but it's never very convenient and nowhere that I have ever worked or any tutorial I have ever watched has bothered to do it this way. Furthermore, I've never seen any difference in the result between using the UV attrs and scaling the light, or been made aware of any downsides to doing it that way. So, what's the deal with this and why is it necessary?

Yes, it's still the recommended method. The issue has always been that scaling can be used, but you need to be careful, as uniform scaling will work correctly, but non-uniform scaling produces skewed or elliptical shapes, which may produce incorrect results.
