I have a sinking feeling that this question is going to make me look stupid, but is there a reason why in the hypershade, the color node isnt visible to connect to? I must be missing something because all the others are there

It's related to Maya. Because of a Maya thing, we had to create an alias of the parameter. Otherwise, it would not work correctly. And for some reason, this change made the original parameter and the alias "hidden" in Hypershade. We've tried to resolve this to no end, however. Autodesk ran out of ideas too...
