Better support for OSL metadata such as 'min'/'max' sliders, 'popup'/'mapper' widgets, and collapsible 'page' sections would really help to improve the usability of OSL texture nodes. It would also be great to have a simple text editor to modify the OSL directly in the Attribute Editor.
V-Ray's implementation makes the texture's parameters harder to control and navigate without the sliders, menus, and pages:
