triplanar option for smooth transitions instead of linear

The triplanar projection tool only blends between the 3 maps in a linear way. This can be harsh sometimes since it is blending via linear gamma. Can there be an option added for a smooth S-curve blend?

I guess your feature request is for some of the V-Ray plugins for the host apps. Can you please specify so I can move the topic in the correct forum?

I'm using the vray for Maya plugin. I think this feature could be useful to all of them unless it already exists on some. The linear blending is harsh.
