I noticed the distance texture does not respect smoothing or tessellation. If you plug in a chunky geometry into it that is set to render smooth, the distance texture only picks up the base mesh. Can there be an option to respect the smoothed geometry?
There is no control for the falloff curve between the near and far color. Can there be an option for a smooth ease in/out S-curve. I believe right now it blends linear between them, which can be harsh.
Also, it would be really handy if the distance texture would allow curve inputs and/or respect curve rendering as an input. Right now, it only allows geometry.
