  • show hdri texture without turning on viewport textures

Could there be a way to still view the vray domelight hdri texture, without enabling viewport textures on objects? Lately, Maya crashes a lot when showing viewport textures, especially when using materials from the material browser or some cosmos assets. So I rarely enable viewport textures...but Id still like to see what the domelight is doing, and how the hdri texture looks in the scene....comparing sun height from one hdri to another for example. Itd be great to be able to work on hdri lighting and not need the full scene textures showing.

You can set a Background Texture in the Environment Overrides (Render Settings> Overrides> Environment) and show it instead.
