  • WISHES for the Vray VFB inside Maya

    Hey Guys,

would be very nice to have the following 3 features:
    1. !!!! PLEASE INCLUDE THE GREAT HISTORY FEATURE!!!!! from standalone and max!!!!!
    2. "Redo previous render" button like the one in the Maya RenderView - this became a real pain lately when the renderview gets closed by vray automatically.
    3. When i send an image from the VFB to the Maya Renderview it is almost always the case, that i want to store it inside of it. So it would be very nice to automatically do "Keep image" after sending it to the renderview.

    thx in advance!

The history is already available in the latest builds, both for Maya and the standalone... (you may need to create the same environment variable as for the 3ds Max VFB).

For #3 - I was wondering if we should do that... will think about it.

    Best regards,
    Vlado

Just found this thread. Could you be a little bit more specific over that function? I really really miss a more direct way to compare rendered images with vray, but maybe i just oversee something here.

To set the VFB History environment go to: Control panel>Administrative tools>System>Advanced system settings>Advanced tab>Environment Variables> in the System variables section> New...
          Variable name: VRAY_VFB_HISTORY
          Variable value: 1

Wow, awesome feature! Why isn't this enabled by default? Oh, and i second the wish from ultrasonic for the renderbutton.

The re-render button is already done as code, we just have not enabled it yet.

Could we even go a little further with the render button and have something simillar to the render view.
Like one button to render, one for snap shot and maybe the IPR button could become the button that would launch VR RT (when available).
Also it would be be very good to keep the left click capability to select a camera.

                  Thanks,

I found the renderbutton, thanks for implementing! But it doesn't do what it says: It should redo the last render through the camera used for that rendering. Right now it renders the actual camera. That's odd, if you are modeling or doing stuff from the perspective camera and just want to rerender from the actual rendercamera.

                      Thanks for the note.
We have forwarded that to the developers.
