Is there something similar to the mental ray dielectric interface shader from puppet available for vray? It's a shader that makes the rendering of liquids in glas pretty easy by cutting the penetrating parts of the liquid inside the glas and allowing the user to give the right IOR values to the shader. You can see the principle for that on this small image (also made by puppet):
