  • Respect the set scene scale Units

As a raytrace engine that mimics real world conditions, I set up my scenes using real world units. Unfortuneately, if Maya scene scale is set to Meters, everything VRay uses centimeters, so I have to use the distance tool, then multiply those values by 100 to figure out VRay falloffs to get something accurate, so even though its 3 meters away, I have to tell Vray to calculate it 3000 units away. Light values also become astronomical as well as Vray deals in centimeters exclusively. Maybe this is for the best as is keeps everything standardized.

Maybe some internal mulitplier that looks to scene scale settings would be a nice addition.

    easier fix,

use "global lights scale " in render globals

    20.0 is cm

    and 0.002 is meters.

    Cheerio.
