  • Stereoscopic cameras

    Hi,

I have been testing a bit with the stereoscopic workflow in maya with vray. It is not working perfectly just yet. One big problem is the VrayPhysicalCamera, because it messes with the camera settings when you turn it on. You can't turn it off for mask passes and occ pass because you will get a different camera then.

This has been discussed before, there should be an option to have the VrayPhysicalCamera act more like a lens shader like mentalray has solved it. I have tried the override FOV setting but matching it to "Angle of View" from a maya camera does not produce the same view. This is also a big problem for tracked cameras.

That's one problem. The next is that you need a way to render both cameras at the same time.

We have had some requests for stereo productions so I hope this is fixed soon, many small studios are going into stereo productions now so this needs to have a high priority.

    Kind Regards,
    Johan Vikstrom

I would also like to add disparity map to the wishlist. If this is already added in 2.0 ignore this.
