  • Create New VRay Project folders

Would be nice to have in the NEW PROJECT list of folders one for VRay
    We usually create 3 folders..

    VR_VLMAP
    VR_VRMAPS
    VR_SCENE

Would be nice to have these as defaults in the project set up list, or something similar

Yep this was requested for V-Ray for XSI as well... will see if we can do this.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

Maybe you already know or not, but you can do this already by editing Maya's np_getFileRuleWidgets script Stezza.

I set a new folder called "vray" under "renderData" so Maya creates this for me everytime I start a new project. But vray itself is oblivious to this folder so I still have to manually save vray caches and proxies to this folder.

Vlado, is there a possibility that instead of writing the full absolute path to the irradiance map and light cache maps etc...that V-ray can detect the current project structure and look for a vray folder much like mental ray looks for the mentalRay folder under the renderData folder? I hope that makes sense.

Thanks for the tip! and your folder implementation seems to the best option and would be very good if it could be implemented. One question though, where can I find the np_getFileRuleWidgets?

        cheers
