  • Environment variable for vray tools

    Hi

I would like to see an environment variable for the directory where the additional tools are located (vrimg2exr, img2tiledexr,...).
I often use those in python scripts in our renderer manager and it would be great to have a variable for better access.

Hm not sure how this will work; for a standard installation these are in the program files folder, but if you are loading V-Ray from a network location then it wouldn't know what it is anyways.

    Best regards,

When doing the standard install it should not be a problem to add this variable and as I read in the documentation about the custom install location one has to manually create env vars for V-Ray anyway, so an additional one should be no problem, if one wants to have it. Something like VRAY_TOOLS_x64.

For our render manager I have created a script that automatically converts vrimg files to exr files when they are written to the disk. And because we are selling our render manager it would be great if this would work for our customers out of the box.
