  • 2012 1.5SP1 version? (32bit).

I'm just wondering if there will there be a 1.5SP1 version of V-Ray for Maya 32bit 2012?

I see there is a 64 build but can't seem to see if a 32 bit version was ever released.

    Thank you.

Hi, sorry for the double post but I saw this post and was also wondering if it applies to the Maya release as well as the 3DS Max release?

If you decide not to upgrade to V-Ray 2.0 - it is entirely up to you. We will support V-Ray 1.5 and V-Ray RT 1.5 until the release of V-Ray 3.0. We will not include new features to 1.5, but this support will include bug fix releases, compiling new builds for new versions of 3ds Max and the general support that we have always provided through e-mails, forums and phone free of charge.

I'm a bit confused at this situation.

      Hello,

I think the upgrade/support policy for Maya is the same (or similar) as the
one for Max, but I'm not 100%, this is a question only Vlado could answer.
Unfortunately Vlado is on vacation for a few days, so he is not here in the
office. He will return at the end of the next week. Until then nothing could
      be done. Sorry.

What is the OS you want to run V-Ray 1.5sp1 for Maya 2012? (I guess Windows)

        Hi Teodor.

Thanks for explaining the situation, yes I'd would be looking to somehow get a build for Windows 32bit 2012 1.5SP1.

        Thank you for the reply.

Hi Teodor, I was just thinking, the reason I'm asking is that I'm interested in installing this particular version is because I want to install them on slaves.

          My main computer is:

          Windows 7 x64
          Maya 2012 x64
          2012 Vray 1.5 SP1 (latest build)

          However my 10x slaves are:

          Windows 7 32bit
          No Maya installed
2011 Vray 1.5 SP1 (build from months ago)

I just tested and it seems to DR render quite fine on a test but I'm not sure this mixing is such a good idea on a production scene.

If I'm unable to obtain a 2012 32bit build of V-Ray SP1, do you know if it is okay to have the latest 1.5SP1 2012 build with the latest 1.5SP1 2011 build?

          Hope I explained this

            Hi Snivlem,

I think you won't have any problems mixing builds for 2012 and for 2011 in DR rendering.
The V-Ray standalone included in both installations should be 99% the same.
If you use some kind of render farm manager which sends whole Maya scenes to the farm, you'll have problems.
Only make sure you use the same revision/version on all machines.

Hope there are no problems with this setup,
