  • extra renderpass reflection ray lenght

    Heya,

after a long discussion with my senior comper about dof in reflections and the use for our current project.

I would love to have an extra renderpass element which gives me a float value for the lenght of the reflection ray in each pixel.
    Is that possible to do?

    Feedback would be nice!

    Thanks Paul

You might be able to cook something with the VRayDirt texture in reflection occlusion mode and its falloff parameters.

    Best regards,

      I´ll try that.

The pass itself should be used for defocusing the reflection/specular elements. So to be really precise and correct it should take the same normals/bumpmapping and glossy settings from each shader.
The occlusion thing can be a workaround and will help for sure, but a real pass would be awesome
