    Would be nice to have some amount of jittering on that value to avoid too hard edges where the reflection is ignored because of a too low value. Maybe some percentage value that the threshold may vary.

    In Houdini/Mantra you can set a curve for the fall off so that it just gradually eases out instead of being a completely hard cut line.

    They have this for the cutoff on lights as well, it's really excellent.

    Having both of those in VRay would be amazing.

        Sounds even better. Right now to me the cutoff is pretty useless because it is too visible.

          Jittering is probably a better approach for this... it's on the to do list.
