  • Skydome alpha...

I'd like to request that a skydome does not contribute to the alpha. I have thought about it for a long time, and I can't think of a single reason you would want to have your skydome contributing to the alpha. At very least it would be nice to have a little switch the toggle the alpha on and off. The standard method I would use with any other material would be to add a vray wrapper material and turn off the alpha contribution, but that doesn't work with a skydome.

If that little feature could be added it would be hugely valuable to me and all the people I work with. Would save a lot of time of making render layers to separate elements.

    Thanks!!

You could simply make the dome light invisible to the camera and use an environment map if you need.

    Best regards,

Its true, that's a workaround. But why do a work around every time for a problem that doesn't need to be there. That means I have to tweak two sets of settings instead of one.
IMHO it seems like lights really shouldn't have alphas or at very least should have toggle-able alphas.
