  • Proper shader support for maya fluids

It would be really nice, if we didn't have to install another application on our workstations and farm, with all the licensing fun and all the spending more money fun.

We do a lot of Maya fluids, and it's probably the only thing we bother using Mental Ray for these days. It sounds like a simple vray shader that is included with Phoenix will allow us to render our maya fluids more effectively in Vray?

Phoenix only needs a license for simulation, not for rendering. So there is no problem to use it to render Maya fluids. We were wondering if we should include the shader with V-Ray or with Phoenix; for the moment they are in Phoenix, but we might move them to V-Ray at one point.

    Best regards,
    Vlado
I only act like I know everything, Rogers.

      Cheers Vlado,

p.s. obviously, we'd really love to see the shader in a build of vray.
