  • Auto White Balance option

In the Physical Camera settings, under the white balance spinner, there should be a an option (like on all dSLR cameras) for Auto.
I deal with a lot materials that are very specific in color - paints and metals mostly. It would be awesome if I knew the white balance was perfect...just one less thing to have to deal with in a long string of problems when dealing with exact color output.

    Hi,

There is a similar thread about this in the 3DS Max section (most probably you don't have an access to it) and here are the comments added by Vlado:

This might be a bit slow to do in the camera as it would require a pre-render of the image to determine its overall color hue.
We can add an option for automatic white balance to the VFB Color corrections panel.

      Yes please!

I'm not sure how you'd go about doing it for a batch render though.

Actually, I posted under the wrong forum, sorry. Was talking about Vray for 3ds Max, not Maya.
An auto white balance button in the VFB would be an unbelievably cool feature for the next version...like I said, though there are a lot of ways to take care of this manually, it'd be just one less headache.

The SolidRocks plugin has it, but I never use it.

            This would be great!
