  • Vray IPR - Update Switch Shader

I've noticed that using the SwitchShader node inside of Vray IPR creates for slow (or no) updates inside Vray RT/IPR unless IPR is restarted. It would be nice to see a better refresh functionality there if possible. (whishlist)

    Best,
    Clayton

Is this the VRaySwitchMtl or the Maya switch nodes? And can you elaborate a bit on what exactly doesn't update, it would be helpful.

Sorry about the lack of information. Below is my tree-

singleShadingSwitch node with 3 ramps pumped into it with a samplerInfo driving the UV for each ramp through the facing ratio. The out of the singleShadingSwitch then drives the reflection glossiness.

So different variations of the same material can be applied to different objects. That's how I'm using it anyways and it works fine (just doesn't update in IPR).

Thanks for the info. That's already on our to-do list, we just haven't gotten there yet.
