  • V-Ray Framebuffer needs button and camera chooser for IPR mode

    Hi,

With regular rendering, we can just right click the teapot inside the V-Ray framebuffer and commence a render through a camera that is chosen, it works so well.

However with IPR, unless I missed something, it's much more difficult.

We have to open Maya's frame-buffer, right click on the IPR and choose the camera then go back to the V-Ray framebuffer. Sounds like a silly little complaint but I think for the next update, a little IPR button with abillity right click to choose the cameras inside the V-Ray framebuffer will be immensely helpful but really easy to implement. Thanks for reading.

you can already right click on the teapot in vfb and choose a camera. But yeah an ipr button in vfb would also be helpful.

That's right but the odd thing is that the selection is not linked back to the rt camera.

So if you right click on the teapot and select cam1. Then standard vray render it will be fine, but if you then do an rt v-ray render it chooses persp camera and not cam1!

Today's nightlies now have an IPR button for the VFB in Maya. It also has the same right-click menu to choose a camera from, just like the production render button. Once RT is started, the button will change its icon and you can use it to force re-start the RT (for example after switchin from CPU to GPU) or force re-start it with a different camera.
