  • Proxy Alembic and Motion Blur

I'm having a bit of trouble with motion blur on alembic proxy objects. Just an FYI, our workflow is rigging, animating, and hair in Maya, and pulling them in to Modo via Alembic. We're using Ornatrix for hair. It looks like the motion blur sample is different than the rest of the objects and I'm getting what looks like weird penetration as a result. Is there a way to adjust this?

    Hey, Larry,

I did not test it with animated hair but I think the rig should work. Basically, I've linked V-Ray proxy channel (velocity multiplier) to Motion Blur Samples (Camera).

You can find the RIG here: RIG_Animated_hair_to_camera_motion_samples.zip

      Cheers,
Thanks! I'll test it out and reply back here.

        Cheers,
I'm going to render out the animation, but that seems to have worked keeping the Velocity multiplier at 2.0. When it's at 1 or 4, it's not good. Thanks again and will let you know how the animation turns out.
